‘Our vision is to ensure everyone within the extended community of THE CULM VALLEY is aware of, and has access to the basketball club, and to ensure there are opportunities for people to be involved, whether as a player, coach, official, administrator or volunteer.’



Club Rules


CULM VALLEY COMETS is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all its members. The club believes that it is important that members, coaches, administrators and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Therefore, members are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with Steve Green (Club Chair) or Julian Hicks (Club Secretary) or the club safeguarding officers, Holly White or Jane Draper.


As a member of the Culm Valley Comets Basketball Club you are expected to abide by the following club rules:


• All members must play within the rules and respect officials and their decisions.
• All members must respect opponents, coaching staff and other club members.
• Members should keep to agreed timings for training and competitions or inform their coach or team manager if they are going to be late.
• Members must wear suitable kit – for training and match sessions, as agreed with the coach/team manager.
• Members must pay any fees for training or events promptly.
• The club reserves the right to move players to an age group that reflects their skills and abilities irrespective of their age.

It is assumed that consent for players participating in tournaments and training sessions to have photographs or recorded images to be taken in accordance with Basketball England regulations has been granted, copies of which are available on request. (NOTE: This may include images included on the Club website / Facebook page) If you do not consent then please notify the club chair, secretary or safeguarding officers.
